  1. I think that this clip from A Walk to Remember really goes along with the chapters. Carter (Shane West) is going through some changes about how he thinks of himself and his social image. His need to hold up his social status could in a way be hinted at as some what part of the the Kingdom of Satan and Jamie (Mandy Moore) is trying to break down his walls and let him see how loving and great the Kingdom of God is. As he goes on to have more interactions with Jamie Carter learns that he needs to be open to her and how loving and kind she is as a person. In the beginning Carter treats Jamie very poorly when they are in the halls at school, later on that day she treats him with the same sort of attitude but he learns something from her about how he does not need to be her secret friend he should be able to be her friend out in the open and not be ashamed. This represents his relationship with God and Jesus and how at first it does not exist but begins to break down slowly.

  2. Through Shane's on camera chemistry it is clear that he shows compassion much like Jesus. An outcast, Jamie struggles through high school and star gazing in a cemetery can probably only hurt hurt her chance of being popular but she ends up finally finding a connection with Shane. Blindness much like her terminal illness is physically, mentally, and spiritually draining. Though he can not cure her leukemia Shane takes some of the burden off of her by providing a network of compasionate support.
